Board and Advisory

I have served as both a non-executive director and an executive director and have also been a member of several advisory boards and partnerships.

Past non-executive director roles have included Bristol 2015 Ltd (European Green Capital 2015 delivery company), the Folly Farm Centre Ltd (a wildlife education and conference centre) and the South West Wildlife Trusts (a member-company for joint work across seven Wildlife Trusts) and helped establish South West Wildlife Fundraising Ltd.

I was also inaugural chair and board member of the West of England Local Nature Partnership and elected by 47 partnerships to represent them on the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme Board (a Minister chaired the board, overseeing the strategy for distributing £6bn of EU funding in the UK).

I’ve been a charity trustee for 20 years. My current trustee board roles are on the national board of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureau, on Project Seagrass and on the Clifton Down Charitable Trust and Downs Committee as a member of the Society of Merchant Venturers. Past trustee highlights include being chair and trustee of the Triodos Foundation UK (small charity administering gift funds), a trustee of the Bristol Natural History Consortium (communications and events member partnership) and a founding trustee and secretary of the Marian Cowie Charitable Trust (Conservation charity in Warwickshire, UK).

I have held a number of advisory roles, including the Government Industry Taskforce on Social Impact Investment (the precursor to the Impact Investing Institute), the Bristol Homes and Communities Board (advisory board addressing city housing issues) and an advisory panel of a water company.
